Welcome to Kindergarten

Kindergarten is all day, Monday through Friday 7:50-2:20. School doors open at 7:30 am and students will wait in the cafeteria until 7:40 am. Students may have a free breakfast in their classroom from 7:40-8:00.

2020-2021 Registration
Aumsville Elementary will be having an online Kindergarten registration the week of May 11 for the 2020-2021 school year. If you attended the Pre-K Night in January or are on our home visit list, we will be calling you with specific registration information. If you are not currently in our school system but will have a 5-year-old ready to start kindergarten, please call Jill Johnson in the main office at 503-749-8040. We appreciate your flexibility and look forward to the beginning of a new year!

Soft Start

First through fifth-grade students return to school the week before Labor Day. Kindergartners only come to school ONE day that first week. On that day, teachers and staff will get to know each child's motor, literacy, math, and expressive skills. Kindergartners will have the opportunity to learn about the school and important routines in a small group.

Class lists will be posted the Monday afternoon AFTER
the soft start week. The first official day for kindergarten is that Tuesday (the Tuesday after soft-start week).

Home Visits

Kindergarten staff are continuing optional home visits for incoming kindergarten students. Home visits allow our staff to meet your child in a fun way and in a place where they feel comfortable. Staff bring a large bag of educational activities that includes books, games, letter magnets, and more for your child to keep.

Please contact kindergarten teacher, Kelcie Frasier if you are interested in a home visit.
